In the early aughts, VFC created a compelling brand for a resuscitated organization. Pottstown Area Industrial development, or PAID, started in the 1960s as an advocate for booming manufacturing in the southeastern Pennsylvania Borough. We partnered with new, energetic leadership to help realign the brand’s mission with the region’s entire economy especially focused on vacancies left from departed industry.
VFC launched and supported PAID in 2013 and the organization evolved into an important advocate for businesses in and around Montgomery County.
Although their work was in economic development, not industrial, the group elected to keep with the hope that the public would understand the tacet implication.
New leadership took over PAID in 2017 and energized the effectiveness of the mission. In 2017 VFC proposed an awareness effort that yielded the campaign, I Pick Pottstown… Pioneers of the good life!
PAID effectively evolved with the support of the I Pick Pottstown creative that became the rallying cry for business leaders and stakeholders vested in resurrecting the Borough and surrounding area with so much potential.
Finally, in 2022, stars aligned and VFC rebranded PAID to PAED to remove any doubt that the dynamic organization was laser focused on the economic development of the region. VFC undertook a naming study and presented multiple options for identities collaborating with PAED leadership on creative approaches. The name, logo and a renewed sense of purpose was rolled out at an event including several hundred business leaders where PAED showcased ambitious VFC-produced video, annual report and support materials to jettison the economic development catalyst into their next successful phase.
PAED is an important case study for VFC because it is a microcosm of comprehensive creative brand development and support concentrated into a short time period with modest funding.
From conceptualizing identities and strategizing campaigns, domain organization and stakeholder interviews, to the support of the impressive brand roll out at an annual event, PAED’s transformation included a lot of moving parts and direction but it eventually resulted in a singular approach, prudently guided by VFC.
