One of the things we love most at VFC is helping people bet on themselves.
When Dominick and Doug decided to open The Breakroom Barbershop on Bridge Street in Phoenixville, they had more than a business plan. They had a vision. Not “retro” in the fake neon-and-mustache way. Real barbershop energy. Timeless. Warm. A place that already felt like it had stories in the walls.
VFC partnered with the guys to develop the brand identity, signage, and website while fellow local creative and architect Tom Carnivale helped shape the physical space itself. Following the ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Phoenixville Chamber’s Jessica Capistrant and attended by Phoenixville Mayor Peter Urscheler, Jessica followed up asking how the collaboration came together because, in her words, “We look forward to sharing how members work together.”
The answer was pretty simple: good people find good people.
Another Chamber member, Tom Carnevale of Carnevale Eustis Architects, who also partnered with The Breakroom on the building renovations, referred Dominick and Doug to VFC, and the project quickly became one of those collaborations where everybody cared about getting the details right.
They’re new to Phoenixville, but everything about the shop respects the history of the town. They left the original brick exposed, worked with local artist Dave Yasenchak on a hand-painted mural, and restored these unbelievable vintage barber chairs wrapped in rich green leather with the logo stitched right in. The place just has soul.
The result feels less like a startup and more like a place that’s always been there.
Great guys. Great shop. Go get cleaned up.
