We recently had a client relay this exact quote to us: "No one ever went to a restaurant because they saw a print ad.”
There are a lot of things wrong with this statement but, perhaps most importantly, it’s the dismissal of a proven medium based upon some negative past experiences that the client had.
Admittedly the display advertising universe is changing but ads in print can still accomplish multiple goals – all dependent on the publication, audience and category. If your objective is to drive traffic, they can certainly be an effective tool.
There are a lot of nuances in the above observation but as a collaborative partner in the advertising and marketing success of our clients, it’s VFC’s fervent wish that everyone explore and exploit all opportunities at all times.
Potential customers are everywhere and the most balanced formula of vehicles, messages and frequency that can be supported within the budget is the most effective path to reaching them.
